Marie Curie (1867-1934) was a Polish scientist and winner of a Nobel Prize in both chemistry and physics. Curie discovered two new elements, radium and polonium, and made many scientific discoveries on top of that. She discovered much about radioactivity and was the first person to isolate radioactive isotopes. Curie was also the first to create a practical use for X-Rays. She broke many boundaries for women in the science field, and was the first female professor at the University of Paris.
